Band Bio

Jen Gonzalez
Backing vocals, Tambourine
(Rachel Fury)

Jen’s early influence in music was a mix of classical and bluegrass/country. While Dad Johnston was jamming out to Johnny Cash, Jerry Reed, and various out of tune bluegrass singers, she was learning classical with piano lessons and choir. In college she studied music theory, music history and classical voice. She discovered that musical theater was another true love and was in productions such as “The Rocky Horror Show”, “Sweeny Todd”, and “Return to Forbidden Planet” to name a few. She also had a 6-year stint as the frontwoman for a band playing 70’s and 80’s dance music called the Bomb. She was one of two singers for a 10-piece horn band based in Lansing called Global Village. Her first experience with Pink Floyd was listening to The Great Gig in the Sky in middle school and thinking, “an opera singer has nothing on this chick”.
